What should I expect at my first appointment?

Your initial appointment with Dr. Luthar is designed to be comprehensive, collaborative, and truly patient-centered. The visit typically lasts 90 to 120 minutes and lays the foundation for long-term care.

During this session, Dr. Luthar will conduct an in-depth review of your medical history, current symptoms, and prior treatments. He will explore your family history, lifestyle patterns, and biopsychosocial context to understand the full picture of your health. A physical exam is included, and advanced lab testing may be recommended based on your needs and priorities.

A significant portion of the visit is focused on preventive and proactive health planning, including strategies to preserve muscle mass, maintain cognitive and immune function, and prevent metabolic, cardiovascular, and neurologic disease. Cancer screening, cardiovascular risk assessment, and longevity-focused labs may be part of the initial workup when appropriate. This appointment is more than a standard intake. It’s a meaningful dialogue. Dr. Luthar creates space for you to share your story, clarify your goals, and reflect on what you need from your care moving forward.

You may leave with:

  • Initial lifestyle and nutrition recommendations
  • Stress and sleep optimization strategies
  • Personalized movement or recovery guidance
  • A preview of next steps based on lab testing or follow-up priorities

The tone is unhurried and thoughtful. Dr. Luthar approaches each case with curiosity, clinical depth, and a focus on building a care plan that is precise, actionable, and sustainable from day one.
